Together, We’ve Made a Difference in 2024

Desk with notepad and pen

As I reflect on my time at the Weingart Center, I feel immense pride in what we’ve accomplished this year. We’ve expanded our programs, enhanced our supportive services, and celebrated the opening of three housing projects: Weingart Tower, a 275-unit permanent supportive housing development, The Weingart Willows, a 52-unit permanent supportive housing development, and The Weingart Mayfair, a 294-bed interim housing facility. In total, these projects provide 327 units of permanent supportive housing and 294 beds of interim housing, amounting to 624 transformative housing opportunities.

I am continually inspired by our dedicated team, whose unwavering commitment to our mission fuels the journeys of individuals overcoming homelessness. Their hard work allows us to create environments where clients can regain control of their lives and move toward greater independence.

What truly motivates me are our clients. Witnessing their resilience as they transition from surviving homelessness to living more independently is profoundly inspiring. Each success story reminds us of the importance of our work and the impact we can have on their lives.

Looking ahead, we have six more housing initiatives in the pipeline:

  • 600 San Pedro: permanent supportive housing, 300 units

  • The Weingart Greenleaf: permanent supportive housing, 100 units

  • Weingart Norwalk: permanent supportive housing, 50 units

  • The Weingart Sycamore: permanent supportive housing, 108 units

  • The Weingart Primrose: permanent supportive housing, 104 units

  • The Weingart Shelby: interim housing, 78 beds

That's a total of 662 permanent supportive housing units and 78 interim housing beds, amounting to 740 new housing opportunities becoming available in the year ahead—each supported by Weingart Center's proven-effective programs and services.

I am excited about the opportunities to expand our mission and services. With your help, 2025 will be even greater! Together, we will continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Here’s to all we’ve accomplished and the great work that lies ahead. Wishing you a Happy New Year, and I look forward to continuing this journey together.

With gratitude,
